Stan du Plessis

Stan Du Plessis is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in academia and finance. Currently serving as a Non Executive Director at Capitec Bank since August 2020, Stan has also held various positions at Stellenbosch University since October 1999, including Chief Operating Officer and Professor of Economics. Previously, Stan was the Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. Additionally, experience includes roles as an Economist at Prescient Securities (July 2008 - December 2016) and Old Mutual Asset Managers (1996 - 1999). Educational credentials include a PhD in Economics from Stellenbosch University, an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and participation in the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School.
