James is a partner in the Social Housing Development team and has over 12 years of experience in the social housing sector. His experience includes development, regeneration and commercial property work, primarily in social housing transactions acting on behalf of Registered Providers. In particular, James has vast experience in stock rationalisations, high value site acquisitions involving golden brick (freehold and leasehold) and turnkey projects, overage and option agreements, regeneration projects, conditional agreements, commercial and residential leases.
James is also currently instructed to act on behalf of a REIT in relation to increasing their portfolio and dealing with all transactional documents.
Acting on behalf of a Registered Provider in the acquisition and development of a scheme to construct 500 plus units for over £119 million. The scheme was under contract within 6 weeks of the initial all parties meeting.
Acted on behalf of a Registered Provider in relation to their acquisition of the development programme of another Registered Provider (at the direction of the HCA). The project included 10 schemes with a combined value in excess of £40 million.
Advising and acting on behalf of a Registered Provider in relation to its stock rationalisation in Merseyside which at the time was the largest stock rationalisation ever undertaken by a Housing Association.
