Simon Stone has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Simon started their career in 2012 as an R&D Engineer Intern at Biomet, where they learned about the development life cycle process for creating new orthopedic implants and surgical instruments. Simon also gained experience in designing parts using SolidWorks and manufacturing parts on CNC mills. Simon continued their internship at Biomet in 2013, assisting with small-scale design projects and conducting feasibility testing of new shoulder implant prototypes.

In 2014, Simon worked as an R&D Engineer Intern at Biomet again, focusing on design verification/validation testing, tolerance analysis, and compiling a Design History File for a new general instrument. Simon also prototyped additional orthopedic surgical instruments upon request.

The following year, Simon joined Biomet as an R&D Engineer Intern in the Hips division. Simon supported the R&D engineering and manufacturing team in creating new medical device instruments for hip replacement systems. Simon also achieved compatibility between two separate hip implant systems and conducted failure analysis and testing.

From 2016 to 2019, Simon worked at Zimmer Biomet as a Product Development Engineer specializing in patient-matched implants. Simon managed project management for over 500 cases and collaborated with surgeons and sales reps to evaluate patient needs and develop customized solutions.

In 2019, Simon returned to axogen as a Manufacturing Process Engineer, providing technical engineering support for the start-up of a new biologic processing facility. Simon managed software selection and validation planning and guided vendor selection efforts for critical building management and environmental monitoring systems.

Following this, Simon joined Lincotek Medical in 2020 as a Manufacturing Engineer, participating in new product development launches and contributing to the layout of the manufacturing process for an orthopedic medical device. Simon conducted Design for Manufacturability analysis and identified continuous improvement opportunities.

In 2021, Simon rejoined axogen as a Senior Engineer in Manufacturing/Processing, where they worked until 2022. Simon then joined Capstone Development Services Co, LLC as a Senior Engineer in Product Development.

Before entering the engineering field, Simon co-founded and operated Stone Lawn Service, a residential lawn care business. Simon demonstrated a strong work ethic, delivered excellent service, and maintained organized financial records.

Simon Stone attended Warsaw Community High School from 2008 to 2012. Simon then went on to the University of Dayton from 2012 to 2016, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
