John MacKenzie

John MacKenzie was appointed Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Capstone Copper in March 2022 following the combination of Capstone Mining and Mantos Copper. John was previously the Executive Chairman and Founder of Mantos Copper for over 6 years. He has over 30 years of operational and investment experience in the metals and mining sector, with over 27 years of executive management experience from his past roles as CEO at Audley Capital, CEO Copper at Anglo American, and CEO Zinc at Anglo Base Metals. John is also an Advisory Board Member of Jetti Resources. He has a Master of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Master of Business Leadership from the University of South Africa and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
