Jonathan Newar has four years of work experience. In 2016, they were a Summer Analyst at Genesis Capital, LLC. In 2017, they were an Energy Investment Banking Analyst at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. In 2018, they were a Finance Associate at WildHorse Resource Development. Since 2019, they have been the Co-Founder & CEO of Austin-based Captain Experiences, a company that makes booking outdoor sports trips quick and easy.

Jonathan Newar completed their education at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, where they obtained a BBA in Economics and Finance, a Spanish Minor, and a Certificate in Personal and Organizational Leadership from the Institute for Leadership Advancement. Jonathan also studied Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Spanish Language and Culture at Universidad de Cádiz.
