Michael Knowles

Michael Knowles has a diverse work experience primarily in the investment research field. Michael is currently working at CAPTRUST as a Manager in the Investment Research department since 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Analyst in the same department from 2022 to 2023 and as an Analyst from 2020 to 2022. Before joining the Investment Research team, Michael worked as a Senior Associate in the Consulting Research Group from 2018 to 2020.

In 2017, they briefly worked at Confluence Investment Management as a Regional Marketing Associate.

Michael initially started their career at CAPTRUST in 2014, where they held various roles. Michael was a Senior Associate in Centralized Trading in 2017, an Associate in Centralized Trading from 2015 to 2017, and an Associate in Portfolio Accounting from 2014 to 2015.

During their academic years, Michael gained valuable experience as an intern at CAPTRUST from 2013 to 2014.

Michael Knowles earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration and Finance from North Carolina State University, where they attended from 2011 to 2014. Michael then obtained additional certifications, including the Series 7 from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in October 2015 and the Series 66 in August 2016. From 2020 to 2022, Knowles pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Investments and Health Care Management, Innovation, and Technology at The Johns Hopkins University.
