Travis Franck is a Research Assistant Professor at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, focusing on developing frameworks to address climate change complexities through system dynamics modeling. In addition, Travis serves as the Climate Modeling and Policy Director, leading teams to explore decarbonization pathways across multiple countries. As a Municipal Light Board Member for Belmont Light, Travis aids in transitioning to renewable energy while considering reliability and cost for customers. With a rich background in climate consulting and policy, including roles at Climate Interactive and contributions to the C-ROADS climate simulator, Travis brings extensive expertise in climate modeling and stakeholder engagement. Travis holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where formative research on algae-based biofuel dynamics was conducted. Educational credentials also include a TPP/Env Eng degree from MIT and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Computer Science, and Environmental Studies from Iowa State University.
