John Franey

John Franey is a seasoned professional in the field of data engineering and geophysics. Currently serving as the Lead Scientific Data Engineer at CarbonCapture Inc. since August 2025, John has previously held roles at Antea Group USA, where responsibilities included leading AI and Data Engineering teams and developing AI-powered applications and machine learning models. John's earlier experience includes project management and data integration roles at Antea Group and research work at the Bureau of Economic Geology. With a strong educational foundation comprising a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from The University of Texas at Austin, John has also gained practical experience through internships at EOG Resources and ExxonMobil, focusing on seismic inversions and reservoir characterization.
