Joel Benjamin

Joel Benjamin is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in environmental advocacy and finance. Currently serving as the Senior Communications Officer at Carbon Tracker since February 2018, Joel previously co-founded Community Reinvest, an organization focused on facilitating divestment from fossil fuels and promoting community-owned renewable energy. Joel's background also includes work as a Local Authorities Campaigner for Move Your Money UK, where efforts were directed towards ethical banking initiatives for local authorities. Earlier roles include Environmental Project Consultant at HMR Environmental Consultants and Environmental Planner at Sinclair Knight Merz, demonstrating a strong foundation in environmental planning and biodiversity. Joel holds a BSc in Geography and Ecology from the University of Otago.
