Ben Rubin

Ben Rubin serves as the Executive Director of the Carbon Business Council, a nonprofit coalition focused on promoting economic growth and climate restoration, since June 2022. In May 2024, Ben began publishing for the Carbon Herald, the leading media source for carbon management news, which collaborates with the Carbon Business Council to elevate awareness in the field. As a Domain Expert at Carbon13 since April 2021, Ben contributes to climate-focused venture building. Previously, Ben held the position of Director of Carbon Drawdown at Climate Nexus from August 2016 to June 2022, where efforts centered on reshaping climate change dialogue. Prior roles include Principal at Kivvit, where public affairs initiatives flourished from April 2014 to July 2016, and Associate Planner at the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research from June 2011 to April 2014, emphasizing climate risk and community development. Ben Rubin holds a BA with Honors in Urban Planning from Pitzer College, participated in the Capital Fellows Program at California State University-Sacramento, and studied abroad at Peking University.
