Kai Chen

Kai Chen has extensive experience in research and development within the field of polymers and materials. Currently serving as Director at Carbon since April 2014, Kai has held various roles including Sr. R&D Manager and Sr. Research Scientist. Prior to Carbon, Kai worked as a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from October 2009 to March 2014, contributing to research under Professor Joseph M. Additionally, Kai's foundational experience includes a Research Assistant position at Tsinghua University, where work focused on polyurethanes and supramolecular gels under Professor Liming Tang from September 2006 to June 2009. Academic achievements include a PhD in Polymers/Materials from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as both an MS and a BS in Polymer Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University.
