Steve Nelson

Steve Nelson is the Co-Founder at Carbon. Prior to this, they were with re—inc, Sift Media, and Carbon. Steve also has experience as a Board Member, having served on the board of SciQuest from March 2014 to August 2016, and Blue Cross NC from March 2002 to October 2019, where they were also Chairman of the Executive Committee.

At Carbon, Steve is focused on the company’s mission to power the global economy with data-driven insights and technology. Prior to co-founding Carbon, they were the CEO and co-founder of re—inc, a data startup that was acquired by Sift Science in 2015. At Sift Media, Steve led the company’s growth from early-stage startup to profitable media business with 300+ employees and 10M+ monthly active users.

A serial entrepreneur, Steve has also co-founded several other startups including Carbon (formerly known as AddThis), a social sharing platform with over 20B monthly pageviews that was acquired by Oracle in 2014.

Steve Nelson received a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wake Forest University.
