Senior Director, Manufacturing and Supply Chain at Cardea

Thomas Hermann has over 30 years of experience in the engineering and manufacturing industries. Thomas is currently Senior Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain at Cardea Bio, Inc., where they are responsible for the world's only mass producer of biocompatible semiconductors, the BPU™ (Biosignal Processing Unit). Prior to this, they were Director of Manufacturing at SeeScan from 2019 to 2021. From 2001 to 2019, they served as Director of Quality Engineering and Senior Staff Engineer/Manager at Qualcomm. From 1998 to 2001, they were Senior Engineer at Qualcomm Globalstar, where they managed product engineering and supplier management for all component parts. From 1997 to 1998, they were Engineering and Quality Manager at BERTOLINI, INCORPORATED, where they increased assembly line productivity by 60% and reduced in-process defect rates by 20%. From 1993 to 1997, they were Senior Engineer at HITACHI HOME ELECTRONICS, AMERICA. Prior to this, they were Engineer and Manager at Integrated Microwave Corporation from 1991 to 1993, where they designed microminiature lumped-element, suspended substrate, bandpass, lowpass, highpass, combline, waveguide, interdigital, cavity filters, and multifunction modules.

Thomas Hermann has been pursuing higher education since 1995. Thomas has a Certificate in Total Quality Management from San Diego State University, which they obtained in 1995. Thomas then attended ITT Technical Institute-San Bernardino, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Automated Manufacturing. Thomas also attended ITT Technical Institute-San Diego and obtained an Associate of Science - AS in Engineering Graphics. In 1997, they attended California State Polytechnic University-Pomona for Engineering Management. Currently, they are attending UC San Diego for Regulatory Affairs for Medical Devices.
