Michael Engstrom

Michael Engstrom, PhD, is a Principal Laboratory Scientist at Cardio Diagnostics Inc. since May 2025, with a robust background in laboratory management and research funding. Previously, Michael served as a Senior Laboratory Resource Manager and Scientist I and Associate Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from October 2016 to May 2025, where significant contributions included securing over $3 million in NIH grant funding and managing laboratory operations. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellow and Graduate Student Research Assistant role at the University of Michigan Medical School, where Michael played a vital role in obtaining $1.8 million in NIH funding, and an Undergraduate Research and Diagnostic Laboratory Assistant position at Michigan State University. Michael holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University.
