Benjamin Newnam

Benjamin Newnam is a legal professional with extensive experience in the fintech and banking sectors, specializing in regulatory compliance related to credit cards and consumer finance. As a founding member of Fair Square Financial, Newnam held the roles of Acting General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, where oversight of credit card compliance programs was a primary responsibility. At Ally, Newnam served as Associate General Counsel, leading a team to ensure compliance with lending regulations. Previous roles include First Vice President and Counsel at MBNA America Bank, Senior Vice President & Assistant General Counsel at CardWorks, and positions at Bank of America and Barclaycard, focusing on regulatory compliance matters. Newnam holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and a BA in Political Science from Villanova University.
