Kate

Grants Manager at Care Compass Network

Kate is the current Grants Manager at Care Compass Network. Kate has over ten years of experience in the field of fundraising, with a focus on major gifts. Kate began their career in September 2009 as the Executive Director of Inova Health Foundation. There, they led the Inova Health System Foundation’s major gifts program and managed the senior development directors heading up fundraising at each of Inova’s 6 hospitals throughout the Northern Virginia region.

In their role at Inova, Kate was tasked with bringing order and discipline to the Inova Foundation’s fundraising team. When they took the job at the end of Q3, the team was tracking more than 50% behind their annual goal. Through a very deliberate and organized approach, and by implementing best practices in major gifts fundraising, Kate led the team to reach their 8-figure goal by the end of the fiscal year.

Kate worked with clinical leadership and volunteers to engage and arm them with the tools needed to be an integral part of the philanthropic process. Kate also implemented a new grateful patient program to more actively fuel the major gift pipeline. In addition, Kate assisted fundraisers in developing and executing major and principal gifts strategies. Kate also implemented formal annual planning and goal setting, that allowed fundraisers to inform the budget development process.

Kate has a Master of Public Health from Emory University in Behavioral Science and Health Education. Kate also has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mary Washington.

Kate reports to Emily Pape, Director Pop Health.
