Maria Umar is a seasoned social entrepreneur and gender and inclusion specialist, currently serving as the Digital Financial Inclusion Advisor for the Strive Women Program by MasterCard. As the Founder and President of the Women’s Digital League, Maria has empowered Pakistani women through digital training and connections to employment opportunities since 2008. Maria’s previous roles include Project Lead for the OneLoad Women Empowerment Project by the Gates Foundation and a Short Term Consultant at the World Bank. Her work has gained recognition from various prestigious platforms, including being featured on Forbes and acknowledged by the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women program. Maria is also a State IVLP Alumni and has held leadership positions with organizations such as Facebook and the Digital Rights Foundation.
