Gender in Emergencies and GBV in Emergencies Specialist- Roster for Emergency Deployment (RED)

Zeynep Topalan is a GiE and GBViE expert in the humanitarian space with extensive experience in protection and gender-related programming. They began their career as an intern with WAVE Network, supporting women's organizations and projects addressing violence against women in South Eastern Europe. Over the years, Zeynep has held various roles at organizations such as the Danish Refugee Council, CARE, and the International Rescue Committee, focusing on GBV case management, child safeguarding, and gender analysis. Currently, Zeynep is involved as a Surge Response Roster GBV member for UNFPA and serves as a Gender in Emergencies and GBV in Emergencies Specialist at CARE. They hold a Master's degree in Social Studies of Gender from Lund University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Hacettepe Üniversitesi.
