Prior to this role, Thomas spent nearly 18 years at the Georgia Baptist Children's Home as a Group Leader, providing care for children, and held various positions in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1992, including Emergency Operations Center Non Commission Officer and First Sergeant, where responsibility included managing personnel and coordinating transportation operations. Educational qualifications include an Associate of Arts degree from Eastern Florida State College and training as a Network Administrator from the Computer Learning Center.
