Darius Cameron

Darius Cameron is a seasoned medical professional with extensive leadership experience in healthcare management. Currently serving as Medical Director at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield since October 2020, Darius oversees Medicaid and Medicare prior authorizations, concurrent reviews, and medical policy updates, while also engaging in multidisciplinary rounds to enhance patient care and discharge planning. Previously, Darius was Medical Director at UMMSHealthPlan, focusing on concurrent reviews and peer discussions. Darius also held the position of Hospitalist Medical Director at MedStar Harbor Hospital, where initiatives were implemented to improve patient care and streamline processes from admission to discharge. Darius holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a Business of Medicine Certificate from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Lehman College, alongside foundational education at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
