Michael A.

Michael A. serves as the Medical Director for CareSource, overseeing the Medicaid, Medicare, Duals, Marketplace, DSNP programs across multiple states since July 2014. Previously, Michael held the position of Vice President of Medical Affairs for the West Region at Bon Secours Mercy Health from January 2013 to June 2014, and was an Academic Medical School Faculty member at The Ohio State University from October 2005 to December 2012, where Michael received the OSU Health System Physician of the Year award in 2011 and served as Physician Champion of Nursing. Michael's career began in private practice as a General Surgeon and Bariatric Surgery Specialist from January 1995 to July 2004. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from The Ohio State University College of Public Health, training as an American Cancer Society Fellow in Palliative Medicine, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ashland University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from The Ohio State University.
