Joel Smith

Joel Smith, Ph.D., is the Executive Director Emeritus and Assistant to the current Executive Director of Autism Services Association, where they focused on the development of human potential and the enrichment of lives. They served as the Executive Director of Autism Services Association from 1989 to 2014, overseeing operations that provide supported employment and Day Habilitation for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Additionally, Joel has contributed as a National Surveyor Consultant for CARF since 1986 and was the Director of Human Services at Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries from 1972 to 1988, where they managed various rehabilitation and skill development programs. They have also served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Autism Society from 2000 to 2003, responsible for financial oversight.
