Astley Aruna has worked in the research field since 2017. In 2017, they were a Student Intern at National University Health System. From 2021 to 2022, they worked as a Research Officer at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research, where they were involved in understanding the mechanisms that drive colorectal cancer metastasis. Astley was experienced in genotyping, qPCR, immunoblotting, dealing with various cell lines, transfections, proliferation and migration assays, and cloning. Astley was also RCULAC certified to work with mice and experienced in retro-orbital, intrapancreatic and intrasplenic injections. From 2022, they have been a Research Associate at Cargene Therapeutics, where they are familiar in conducting high throughput assays for screening. Astley is experienced in qPCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid extractions, flow-cytometry, IC50, ELISA, cellular transfections, genotyping, cell culture, and is comfortable working with mice, familiar with various injection techniques.
Astley Aruna has a diverse educational background. In 2015, they completed an associate degree in Biomedical Sciences, General from Temasek Polytechnic. From 2018 to 2019, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from La Trobe University. Astley is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Research Degree - Honours in Biomedical Sciences, General from The University of Western Australia.
