Thomas Hierlinger

Thomas Hierlinger is a seasoned automotive professional with extensive expertise in automated driving and vehicle safety systems. Currently serving as the Head of Predictive Safety Rear at CARIAD since October 2021, Thomas oversees a growing team, manages seven critical customer functions, and leads a task force within the VW Group for V2X fulfillment in China. Prior to this role, Thomas held significant positions at Mobility Asia and Audi China, where responsibilities included project leadership in the development of advanced driving assistance systems, team management, and cross-departmental collaboration. Thomas's academic credentials include a Dr.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a Nanodegree as a Self-Driving Car Engineer from Udacity.
