The Caritas Ukraine network is one of the largest networks of charitable non-profit organizations in Ukraine, providing comprehensive support to people in need, assisting in overcoming crisis situations, and developing sustainable solutions for social well-being.

Caritas Ukraine is part of the Caritas Internationalis confederation, representing the social service of the Catholic Church in over 160 countries worldwide. All Caritas organizations share a common
mission: to help people in need, regardless of their religious beliefs, nationality, or social status, adhering to unified standards of assistance and relying on local initiatives and needs.

The extensive geographical coverage and years of experience make Caritas Ukraine a leading network of local organizations supporting people in need during humanitarian crises. Since February 24, 2022, Caritas has delivered over 5 million services to more than 3 million beneficiaries.

Coverage and Experience:

• Geographical Presence. The Caritas Ukraine network comprises over 45 active local organizations and the network’s national coordination offices in Kyiv and Lviv, unified by common standards of aid delivery. In the summer of 2024, Caritas Ukraine also activated over 300 parish hubs to provide assistance and has the capacity to engage more than 1,000 such hubs if needed.

• Experience. With thirty years of experience in social assistance programs and a decade in humanitarian crisis response, development, and community resilience building, Caritas Ukraine is actively involved in the reform of social policy and humanitarian legislation at the national level.

• Community Engagement. Caritas mobilizes local communities and unites affected populations through involvement in its mission. In 2024, the network is supported by over 1,100 volunteers. Caritas provides training and start-up grants to local NGOs to assess community needs and implement effective responses.
