Joan Wright is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in public affairs, strategic communications, and community engagement. As a Co-Founder of the Bells Corners Community Garden since May 2021, Joan has actively supported food security initiatives. In academia, Joan serves as an Instructor at Carleton University, guiding journalism students in strategic communications planning. Joan's role as a Senior Public Affairs Advisor for the Government of Canada focuses on developing strategic plans for internal clients. A former President of the CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau, Joan has held various leadership positions, including President of the Westcliffe Estates Community Association and Communications Chair for Equal Voice-NCR. Joan’s educational background includes diplomas in Public Relations and Television Broadcasting from Algonquin College and a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of the West Indies.
