Cem Gercek, P. Eng., is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in operations and decarbonization within the mining and manufacturing sectors. Since November 2002, Cem has held various leadership roles at Carmeuse, currently serving as Director of Operations and Head of Decarbonization, where responsibilities include strategic leadership and the development of innovative CO2 reduction solutions in North America. Cem's previous positions at Carmeuse involved managing operations across multiple regions and plants, leading organizational change, and enhancing safety and sustainability practices. Additionally, Cem contributes to various industry initiatives, serving as Chair of the Environment Committee for Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, a Board Member at CRIBE, and a Founders' Council Member of Decarb Connect. Academic credentials include an MBA in Global Mining Management from Schulich School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University.
