Colin Izzard began their work experience in 2000 as the Head Coach for PEAK Swimming in Asheville, NC, where they served until 2002. In 2002, they joined Carmichael Training Systems as a Premier Coach, specializing in strength and conditioning for mountain bike racers and motor sports athletes. Colin also trained athletes of various levels, ranging from Juniors to World Cup Level Racers. In 2004, Colin became the Director/General Manager of CTS Brevard, a role they held until June 2019. Additionally, in 2002, they briefly worked as a Coach at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Colin Izzard attended Syracuse University from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science. During their studies, they specialized in the field of Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics.
