Carnival Memphis is a non-profit organization founded in 1931 to support, enhance, and promote the commerce and culture of Memphis and the Mid-South through an annual salute of Business and Industry; to provide a forum for social interaction that fosters understanding, enjoyment, and involvement of the area’s diverse population; and to raise funds for charities that benefit local children.


The Carnival Memphis Children’s Charity Initiative (CCI) was developed in 1999 to assist those who improve the quality of life for children of all ethnic and social backgrounds in Memphis and the Mid-South, and to spread the spirit of Carnival throughout the community.  Each year, different agencies are selected to receive monies raised by Carnival and the Grand Krewes of Carnival Memphis at various fundraisers throughout the year.  Since the inception of the CCI, over $4 million with matching funds has been donated to local children’s charities.
