I'm a Colombian PADI Divemaster, freediver and underwater photographer, and the founder of Caro Santamaria Ocean, a platform for honest dive stories and ocean conservation.

I started it because most dive content sells you a fantasy. 
I'd rather tell you what a destination actually delivers underwater.

My work lives at the intersection of three things:

🌊 Diving & photography — from Malpelo's hammerhead schools to the macro world of nudibranchs most divers swim straight past. I shoot it, then write about why it matters.

🪸 Conservation — deep-sea mining, the High Seas Treaty, the people who physically guard shark sanctuaries. Stories that turn "I should care about the ocean" into actually caring.

📷 Honest gear & destination guides — reviews you can plan a trip around, because I've done the dives and made the mistakes first.
