Julia Beck

Julia Beck (Wacker), MSW, MSPH, serves as the President of CaroNova since January 2021, where significant achievements include the establishment and growth of this health innovation incubator in North and South Carolina. Previously, from October 2014 to August 2024, Julia held roles as Senior Vice President at the North Carolina Healthcare Association and President of the North Carolina Healthcare Foundation, leading initiatives that expanded the foundation from $3 to $7 million and raised $3 million in COVID relief funding. Additional accomplishments in previous roles include advocacy for behavioral health policy reforms, the launch of critical health equity initiatives, and the development of community health programs such as the North Carolina Mobile Medication Program and the Bull City Fit wellness initiative at Duke Children's Hospital. Julia holds an MSPH and an MSW from the University of North Carolina, as well as a BA from The New School.
