William Herbert

William Herbert has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. William started their career as a Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they conducted experimental and computational research in materials science and engineering. William then joined The Boston Consulting Group as a Consultant before moving on to become the Director of Corporate Development at Carpenter Technology Corporation. In this role, they managed M&A strategy and execution and was involved in financial modeling and due diligence. William also oversaw CapEx projects and acquisitions. William later became the Director of Technology and R&D at Carpenter Technology Corporation, where they led strategic projects and focused on capacity maximization, manufacturing productivity, and commercial portfolio optimization. Most recently, they worked as a Fellow at Castor Ventures, a private venture fund for MIT alumni and friends of the community. William's experience showcases their expertise in research, consulting, corporate development, and venture investments.

William Herbert attended Twyford School in Hampshire, UK from 1998 to 2000. William then went on to Winchester College from 2000 to 2005. Continuing their education, William earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Materials Science from the University of Oxford between 2005 and 2009. Finally, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science & Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2009 to 2014.
