Michael Wu

Michael Wu currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Carta, having held multiple leadership roles since March 2014, including General Counsel, Chief of Staff, and Head of People. Additionally, Michael is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, teaching Business and Law of Venture Deals, and serves on the board of Grassroots Ecology. Prior experience includes practicing general corporate law at Cooley LLP, where Michael represented emerging companies and venture capital funds, as well as roles as a Summer Associate at Cooley LLP and a Legal Intern at Asian Americans Advancing Justice in Chicago. Michael's earlier career includes positions as a Litigation Support Analyst at Update Legal and Incubator Manager at BUILD. Education includes a J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, an MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley.
