In 2012, Carter Brothers, LLC, an industry leader in Fire, Life Safety, Security, and Project Management announced the sale of its Fire & Life Safety Division and began operating under the new trade name Carter Brothers Security Services, LLC, effective January 2013. 

As one of the largest privately held, family-owned, security and electrical services firms in the industry, Carter Brothers comprises two operating companies: Carter Brothers Security Services and D&N Electric. These two often work jointly as one company to provide integrated expertise as a leading provider of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, visitor management systems, and electrical services, with an expertise in project management.
