Simon Wrigley has over 14 years of professional experience in the geospatial and geoscience industries. Simon began their career in 2006 as a Junior Acoustic Engineer at Sandy Brown Associates LLP, where they gained experience in architectural acoustic modelling, site surveys, and acoustic design. In 2008, they worked as a Geoscience Intern at BG Group, where they tested a complex new software package prior to deployment and developed a comprehensive training course for BG Geoscientists. In 2010, they completed their Masters Degree Thesis with the ExxonMobil Upstream Research Centre. From 2011 to 2016, they worked as an Exploration Geophysicist at BG Group, leading the technical data analysis of the company’s largest ever seismic survey and developing and leading the seismic data analysis strategy for the Myanmar Team. In 2017, they became a Geospatial Lead at Living Map, designing, building, and maintaining a fully version controlled, scripted/repeatable multi-tennant Postgres/PostGIS database from which all Living Map projects are served. From 2020 to 2022, they were the Head Of Product Development and Lead Remote Sensing Developer at 4 Earth Intelligence, transforming the way organisations obtain value through geospatial analytics and intelligence and leading teams working on technical product and workflow development. Currently, they are a Solutions Engineer at CARTO, designing cloud-native Geospatial Solutions for an incredibly diverse range of use cases for some of the world's leading brands and institutions.

Simon Wrigley obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Leeds in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc in Acoustics from The University of Salford in 2008. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Introduction to Climate-related Disclosures from the FSB Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in June 2021, and Critical Thinking for Better Judgment and Decision-Making from LinkedIn in April 2021.
