Allison Dick

Cheminformatics Scientist at CAS

Allison Dick has a diverse work experience in the field of chemistry. Allison is currently working as a Cheminformatics Scientist at CAS since June 2023. Prior to that, they held the role of Assistant Professor at Wheaton College from July 2018 to July 2023, where they taught organic chemistry lecture and lab courses, as well as a general education chemistry course. Allison also served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Wheaton College from July 2017 to June 2018.

Allison has previous experience at CAS, where they worked for several years. Allison started as a Scientific Information Analyst from June 2008 to December 2012, performing analysis of high-impact journals and patents in the chemical literature. Allison then served as an Associate Projects Analyst from January 2013 to June 2014, conducting detailed analysis of journal articles and patents for a chemical database. Later, they held the position of Senior Associate Projects Analyst from July 2014 to June 2017. In this role, they helped coordinate global database-building operations, managed documentation and training, and performed data analysis and quality control.

Additionally, Allison has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Columbus State Community College in 2014 and as a Post-doc at the University at Buffalo from April 2007 to June 2008.

Allison Dick pursued their education with determination, starting their journey in 1994 at Wooster High School. After successfully completing their high school education, they pursued their passion for Chemistry and enrolled at Wheaton College in 1998. Allison spent four years there, diligently working towards their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry. Continuing their pursuit of knowledge and specialization, Allison was accepted into the prestigious University of Michigan in 2002. Over the course of five years, they dedicated herself to their studies and research, ultimately earning their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry.
