Junyan Wang

Lead Quality Engineer at CAS

Junyan Wang has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries.

Junyan began their career at Shanghai Huayi Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (previously known as "Shanghai Coking & Chemical Co.") as a Process Engineer and ISO Internal Auditor from August 1997 to October 1999. During this time, they learned about coal chemical manufacturing and logistic distribution processes while also assisting in the certification of the ISO 9000 quality management system.

Junyan then worked as a Process Engineer at Rohm and Haas from October 1999 to April 2002.

Afterward, Junyan joined The University of Texas at San Antonio as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2003 to October 2008. During this role, they synthesized novel pseudodendrimers and lectured undergraduate Chemistry lab courses, including Organic Chemistry Lab I, Organic Chemistry Lab II, and Analytical Chemistry Lab.

In 2008, Junyan became a Research Scientist at Battelle, where they worked until October 2009.

Following that, they joined CAS, where they held various roles starting from October 2009. Junyan initially worked as a Scientific Information Analyst until October 2010. Later, from September 2010 to January 2013, they served as a Quality Programmer Analyst. Subsequently, from January 2013 to March 2015, they were a Quality Engineer, responsible for QA for two Agile feature teams (CASDraw & Patent family). Junyan conducted various types of testing, including smoke, functional, UI, regression testing, and Acceptance Testing of New STN. Junyan also acted as a liaison between the business team and development team, translating business specifications and requirements into functional test cases. From October 2021 to April 2022, they took on the additional responsibility of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Project Lead. Currently, they hold the role of a Senior Quality Engineer, a position they have been in since March 2015. Recently, in August 2022, they were promoted to the position of Lead Quality Engineer.

Junyan Wang earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from East China University of Science and Technology, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Junyan then pursued and successfully completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2003 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Junyan Wang has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Junyan obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from GoLeanSixSigma.com in April 2022 and previously received training for Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the same institution in July 2021. Junyan also completed the Leadership Foundations program offered by LinkedIn in November 2020. Furthermore, Junyan Wang has acquired various certifications related to software quality engineering, including Six Sigma Foundations, Insights on Software Quality Engineering, Programming Foundations: Software Quality Assurance, and Project Management Foundations: Quality, all obtained in January and February 2018 from Lynda.com.
