Dane Eckerle has a diverse work experience in the entertainment industry. Dane started as a Development Intern at Lionsgate in 2011. After that, they joined Creative Artists Agency as an Assistant, where they assisted senior Motion Picture Agent and helped manage client calendars. Dane then worked as an Executive Assistant at Emmett Furla Films, where they supported top executives in various tasks.
In 2014, Dane joined Superseed Productions as a Creative Executive, where they acquired, developed, and produced content for the production company. Dane collaborated on a range of projects, including web series, short films, music videos, commercials, and branded ad campaigns.
Dane further enhanced their expertise as a Creative Executive at Lotus Entertainment from 2015 to 2017. Dane sourced scripts, packages, and finished films for production and financing. Additionally, they managed heavy reading loads, provided creative notes for incoming scripts and screeners, and handled various administrative tasks.
From 2017 to 2020, Dane served as the VP of Development at Crypt TV, a digital media start-up. In this role, they ideated, developed, and produced original scripted and non-scripted programming. Dane played a crucial role in expanding the company's franchises for digital and traditional platforms, defining and maintaining the content strategy.
In 2020, Dane founded their own company, Bad Grey, where they assumed the roles of Founder and Producer. Dane developed, pitched, packaged, and produced film and TV properties. One notable project was "I LOVE MY DAD," a comedy that premiered at SXSW 2022 and received the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award before being sold to Magnolia.
Currently, Dane is the Head of Development at Caspian Studios, a position they assumed in 2022.
Dane Eckerle attended Emerson College from 2008 to 2012, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Directing and Film/Video Production.
