Erica Smith, PhD, MFT, has extensive experience in mental health counseling and psychotherapy, currently serving as a Psychotherapist at Sage SoCal since August 2019, where focus is placed on supporting students' social and emotional well-being. As Site Director and Clinical Supervisor at CASSY since August 2015, Erica has led initiatives to enhance student mental health awareness while mentoring a team that delivered significant counseling services to students, parents, and school staff. Prior roles include School-Based Therapist and Marriage and Family Therapy Intern at CASSY, as well as internships at Rape Trauma Services and Living Arts Counseling Center, where Erica provided various forms of therapeutic support. Erica holds a PhD in Depth Psychology with emphasis in Psychotherapy from Pacifica Graduate Institute, an MA in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies, and a BA in Dramatic Arts from UC Santa Barbara.

CASSY is a Silicon Valley nonprofit agency that partners with local schools to support students' social and emotional well-being through crisis intervention, ongoing counseling and proactive mental health education. Our mission is to de-stigmatize mental health services and make supporting students’ social and emotional well-being the norm in our local schools. We want to provide all students with the continuity of support they need, from the first day of kindergarten until they graduate from high school, to be successful in school and in life.
