Lauren O'Brien

Deputy Chief Data Officer at Catalist

Lauren O'Brien has a diverse work experience ranging from data management and product management roles to political organizing and research. Lauren is currently the Deputy Chief Data Officer at Catalist, a role they have held since September 2022. Prior to this, they were the Director of Data Services at Catalist from June 2020 to September 2022. Lauren also served as the Deputy Director of Product Management from September 2019 to June 2020 and as a Data Services Account Executive from November 2017 to September 2019.

Before joining Catalist, Lauren worked at Votes Voices Now as the Minnesota Data and Targeting Manager from May 2017 to November 2017, and as a Minnesota Data and Targeting Associate from November 2015 to May 2017. Lauren also worked as an Organizing Fellow at Keith Ellison for Congress from June 2015 to October 2015.

Lauren gained experience in research and communications as a Research and Communications Intern at One Wisconsin Now from September 2014 to May 2015. Lauren also worked as a Student Administrative Assistant in the Curriculum Department at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health from August 2012 to May 2015.

Lauren has also held legislative internships at the United States Senate in the Office of Senator Tammy Baldwin in June 2014, and in the Office of State Senator Jennifer Shilling in the Wisconsin State Legislature from January 2014 to May 2014.

Lauren O'Brien earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2011 to 2015.
