Brian Turczyk

Brian Turczyk has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology. Brian is currently working at CATALOG as the Senior Director of Molecular Biology, where they lead a team focused on DNA data storage and computation. Previously, they held the position of VP of Research and Development at Torus Biosystems, Inc., where they led the development of a point-of-care diagnostic assay platform for infectious disease detection. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Translational Science and Director of Lab Operations at ReadCoor, Inc., where they played a key role in advancing their True Spatial Sequencing Platform and managing lab operations. Additionally, they worked as a Staff Scientist at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering and as a Senior Scientist at Modular Genetics, Inc., where they were involved in protein and strain engineering projects. Brian Turczyk completed their undergraduate education at the University of New Hampshire from 1994 to 1998. During this time, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a focus on Molecular Biology and Microbiology. Following their undergraduate studies, Turczyk pursued further education at the Boston University School of Medicine. From 1998 to 2005, they successfully completed their Ph.D. in Pharmacology, with a specialization in Molecular Biology.
