Dale Smith

Dale Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Dale started their career as a Lab Demonstrator at the University of Otago in 2003. Dale then worked as a Tutor/Network Manager at Natcoll Design Technology, where they tutored students and managed the local network system.

In 2007, Dale joined Sidhe Interactive as a Programmer and later advanced to the role of Senior Programmer, where they contributed to game development projects. Moving on, they joined Catalyst IT Limited in 2012 as a Systems Administrator, responsible for Ubuntu server administration, incident response, and system maintenance.

Dale's expertise in system administration continued with their role as a Sysadmin and Cloud DevOps at Catalyst IT Europe Limited from 2014 to 2017. Dale specialized in Openstack Cloud operations and performance profiling of PHP websites.

In 2017, Dale joined American Express as a Senior Engineer, where they contributed their skills until 2019. Currently, they are working as a Cloud Engineer at Catalyst Cloud Limited, where they are involved in cloud engineering tasks.

Dale Smith attended the University of Otago from 2001 to 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (hons) degree in Computer Science.
