Stephen Karp

Stephen Karp is an experienced legal professional currently serving as General Counsel at Catapult since June 2025, after a brief prior tenure in the same role at Katapult from March to May 2025. Previously, Stephen held the position of General Counsel at Markforged from November 2020 to March 2025, where oversight of all legal matters included managing contracts, compliance, and participation in significant public offerings and strategic mergers and acquisitions. Prior to Markforged, Stephen was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Aspen Technology from February 2011 to November 2020, contributing to a wide range of legal services in corporate finance and litigation. Earlier experiences include roles as Associate General Counsel at The Kensington Investment Company, Corporate Counsel at Phase Forward Incorporated before its acquisition by Oracle, Staff Attorney at IBM focusing on the Rational Software business, and as an Associate at Ropes & Gray LLP. Stephen holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Columbia Law School, complemented by an exchange program at the University of Buenos Aires, and a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Tufts University.
