Founded in 1929, Catholic Charities is the social ministry outreach of the Archdiocese of Washington, comprised of Washington, D.C., and the surrounding Maryland counties of Montgomery, Prince George’s, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s. Catholic Charities DC is the largest nonprofit social service provider in the D.C. metropolitan region. It is accredited by the Council on Accreditation. 

We help more than 235,000 people each year – those who live in poverty, those who are without homes,  newcomers, people with developmental disabilities, teen parents, and despairing families who fell into hard times. We pride ourselves on serving anyone who comes to us, regardless of age, race, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, background, belief, or circumstance.
