Dean Nelson

Dean Nelson has had an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Dean is the current CEO of Cato Digital, a company specializing in low-cost, carbon-free bare metal platforms. Dean is also a Board Member at Cato, where they are actively involved in transforming how data centers and cloud providers manage power capacity.

Additionally, Dean Nelson is a Board Member at ECL, a company disrupting the data center industry with off-grid, efficient, hydrogen-powered data centers. Dean is the Chairman and Founder of Infrastructure Masons, a non-profit professional association that connects infrastructure professionals and fosters growth in the digital age.

In their own company, Dean Nelson Inc, they serve as the Founder and CEO. Dean is also a Strategic Advisor at Amelia, Apptio, Natron Energy, Autonomy Institute, and ADDC. Furthermore, they are part of the Advisory Board at Edjx and co-hosts The Next Wave Podcast, where they cover the rise of the Fourth Platform and interviews technology leaders.

Outside of the technology industry, Dean Nelson is the Co-Founder of the Just Let Me Learn Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides education to economically challenged areas. Dean previously held the role of Head of Uber Metal at Uber and was responsible for the company's global production workload.

Before joining Uber, Dean Nelson was the Vice President of Global Foundation Services at eBay, where they oversaw budget, strategy, engineering, and operations for various services. Dean also founded Data Center Pulse, a non-profit organization that represents data center owners and operators globally.

Throughout their career, Dean Nelson has held various leadership positions, served on boards, and actively contributed to the growth and development of the technology and infrastructure industry.

Dean Nelson has a diverse education history. In 1987, they attended DeVry University where they obtained an Associate's degree in Electronics, which they completed in 1989. Subsequently, they pursued a one-year program at Masters Institute in 1990-1991, specializing in Desktop Publishing & Graphic Arts. In 2002, Dean enrolled at DeVry University again and completed their Bachelor of Science in Technical Management (BSTM) degree in 2004. Lastly, in 2017, they attended Harvard Business School Online and earned a Certificate in Executive Education.
