Ryan Bourne currently holds the position of R. Evan Scharf Chair for the Public Understanding of Economics at the Cato Institute, a role embraced since January 2017. Prior to this, Ryan served as Head of Public Policy at the Institute of Economic Affairs in London from February 2014 to November 2016 and as Head of Economic Research at the Centre for Policy Studies from January 2011 to January 2014, focusing on economic research and policy publication. Ryan began a career in economics as an Intern Analyst in Public and Competition Policy at Frontier Economics in 2010. Academic credentials include a BA/MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge, completed in January 2009.
