Rob Appel

Rob Appel is an experienced executive with a strong background in telecommunications and the music industry. Currently serving as VP APAC and Advisor at Catylex since August 2019, Rob's previous roles include Director at Canopus Networks from February 2020 to January 2024 and Corporate Strategy Advisor at AlphaIndigo from April 2019 to January 2024, focusing on growth and funding strategy development. Rob also held the position of Commercial Director Broadband at amaysim Australia Ltd between August 2016 and March 2019. As the Founder and CEO of Chaos.com from July 1995 to June 2017, Rob established Australia’s first online music service, significantly influencing the industry during its early years. Additionally, Rob served as CEO of AusBBS from May 2012 to August 2016 and held directorial roles at the Australian Music Retailers Association and the Music Council of Australia. Rob's educational background includes a BA/LLB degree from the Australian National University.
