Located in Downtown Santa Monica, Cayton Children’s Museum serves children ages 0–10 and their families through immersive exhibits, public programs, classes and cultural events. Beyond our museum walls, the Cayton extends its impact through community-based and mobile programs that bring play-based learning into neighborhoods and schools with limited access to informal learning opportunities.

Building on more than 30 years of values-based learning that began as the Zimmer Children’s Museum, the Cayton continues to evolve as a trusted resource for families, educators, and partners across Southern California.

Cayton Children’s Museum is a nonprofit organization that advances childhood development, family wellbeing, and community connection through play. We create meaningful learning experiences that support how children grow, explore, and understand the world, while welcoming families of all backgrounds and abilities.

We envision a community where play is recognized as essential to childhood, families are supported in nurturing curiosity and creativity, and children have access to enriching learning experiences regardless of circumstance. Cayton Children’s Museum believes children’s museums play a vital civic role in strengthening families, neighborhoods, and the social fabric of our region.
