Paul Cummings has a diverse work experience starting from 2005. Paul began their career as a Library Technical Assistant at Riverside Community College Digital Library in 2005 and continued in the same role until 2010. Following that, they worked as a Collections Maintenance personnel at University of California, Riverside Tomas Rivera Library from 2007 to 2008. Paul then interned as a Software Development Intern at Water Resources Institute from October 2012 to June 2013, where they developed a web app prototype for K12 students.

In 2013, Paul joined iMedRIS Data Corporation as a Systems Administrator. In this position, they achieved the successful transition of company infrastructure to AWS and migrated version control to Git, enabling CI/CD practices. Paul also designed and maintained the AWS environment hosting iMedRIS software. Paul worked at iMedRIS for eight years until November 2021.

Currently, Paul is employed as a Site Reliability Engineer at Cayuse since November 2021, where they work remotely.

Paul Cummings has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Systems from California State University-San Bernardino, which they obtained from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they attended Riverside City College from 2004 to 2007, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. In addition to their formal education, Paul has obtained various certifications including "Building RESTful APIs with Node.js and Express" from LinkedIn in July 2021, "Learn JavaScript Course" from Codecademy in June 2021, "Learn C# Course" from Codecademy in May 2021, and "Learn Docker by Doing" from Linux Academy in February 2021.
