Amanda Parris is an accomplished executive producer, writer, and host with a diverse background in the arts and education. Currently serving as the executive producer and showrunner for the comedy series "Revenge of the Black Best Friend" at iThentic since August 2018, Amanda also writes the "Black Light" column for CBC Arts. Amanda's hosting credentials include "Marvin's Room" on CBC Music and "Exhibitionists," a Canadian Screen Award-winning show. As a playwright, Amanda authored "The Death News," which received a Canadian Screen Award, and "Other Side of the Game," awarded the Governor General's Literary Award. Additional roles include curriculum consultant, community partnerships coordinator, and various positions within theatre and educational organizations. Amanda holds a Master of Arts in Sociology of Education from the University of Toronto.
